Coleman Carnegie Dies in Home of Adirondack Guide - His Career.
GLENS FALLSM N.Y., Aug. 7. - Coleman Carnegie of Pittsburgh and Fernandina, Fla., a nephew of Andrew Carnegie died at 1 oclock this morning at the house of Samuel Jenkins, an Adirondack guide, at Pattens Mills. He was 31 years old. Young Carnegie, with his mother Mrs. Thomas Carnegie and his sister Mrs Nancy Hever, had been on an outing at Racquette Lake, and he had left them to go on a fishing trip with the guide. He contracted pneumonia and died before help could be summoned.
Coleman Carnegie was one of five children of Thomas Carnegie, a brother of Andrew Carnegie. He was a favorite of his uncle, and at one time it was reported that the latter intended to make him his principal heir. ..... [New York Times 8 aug.1911, ...
